hidden beside simmering highways
Buried in the sand
Dark ranges against deep, blue sky

Far flung corners
and fading ghosts
in the shadows of the sixty-six

Long days
broken by wide-angle sunsets
One night is never enough
to dance in the rain

beneath the Sangre de Cristo
Along the banks of the Pecos
Amid the adobe
of The City Different

Lost in time
and enchantment
