One day in 2012 my wife, Dena, and I decided to move to California. It wasn’t a snap decision, as we’d been enamored of the idea since spending a vacation in SoCal the previous year. Despite the logistical nightmare presented by a move of this magnitude, we weren’t to be deterred. How hard could it be anyway? People move cross country all the time. I would think back on these thoughts later on with something approaching disbelief at my own naivete.
My name is Keith, and this blog will focus mainly of the trials, tribulations, and euphoria experienced by a couple from Athens, Georgia before, during, and after a move to San Diego, California. To say there was culture shock would be like saying that the Universe is a little big. Despite all of the complications, we’ve now been in California for approximately four months, and have begun to feel at home.
I hope everyone will enjoy our story, as it is quite an interesting one. Thanks for reading!
